NATHAN HASELEU CAPTURES BUD POLE FOR NASCAR AUTOZONE ELITE DIVISION, MIDWEST SERIES OPENER

Rockford, Illinois (April 2, 2005)--Nathan Haseleu, of Arlington, Wisconsin, captured the Bud Pole fast qualifier award for the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Midwest Series Spring Classic 150, Saturday evening at the Rockford (Ill.) Speedway. The event kicks off the 2005 season for the Midwest Series.

"I'm excited," said Haseleu. "It's been a long time since I had a Bud Pole and to do it here at Rockford, after the changes we made to the team, it's good for everybody."

After the mandatory series invert, Haseleu will start Sunday's Spring Classic 150 from the tenth spot. The event marks the first for Haseleu under the guidance of new crew chief Chad Wood. The green flag will fly over the Spring Classic 150, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (CT).

Sparta, Wisconsin's Tim Schendel qualified second with Wheaton, Illinois driver Eddie Hoffman, Beach Park, Illinois driver Erik Darnell and Becker, Minnesota's Bryan Roach rounding out the top five.

"Qualifying here with cold tires and the sun setting in your eyes as you go into turn one is really controlled chaos," said Schendel. "I thought we had a good enough car for the pole, but the car is really good in race trim."
