Daytona Beach, Fla. (May 18, 2003)--Second year NASCAR Busch Series competitor Johnny Sauter is scheduled to make his NASCAR Elite Division, International Truck and Engine Corporation Midwest Series return, Sunday, May 25, in the All-Star 250 at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois.

Sauter will be returning to the series that his father, Jim, is a two-time champion. The eldest Sauter is a two-time series winner at Grundy County Speedway, including a 1982 win that saw him score the triumph with a broken left ankle.

In spite of his dads experience at the .33-mile Grundy oval, Johnny has never raced at the facility.

Sauter will have a busy race day. In addition to competing in the International Truck and Engine Corporation Midwest Series All-Star 150, he will also compete in the popular Chicagoland Appleton Memorial 100 for area late models. A $1000 bonus awaits any driver who can win both events. Sauter will be behind the wheel of potent Richie Wauters prepared mounts for both races.

Sauter, originally from Necedah, Wisconsin captured his first career Busch Series win, in July, 2002 at Chicagoland Speedway. That facility is just 15 miles from the Grundy County Speedway.

The Grundy County Speedway is located just north of I-80, on Highway 47, at the fairgrounds. The race-day phone is (815) 942-5043. Spectator gates open at 3:00 p.m. with qualifying slated for 5:00 and racing action to begin at 7:00.
