MOORESVILLE, NC -- Chuck Gafrarar was a mere nine years old when he first took hold of a steering wheel. Back then he set his goals from karting to NASCAR. On Saturday, May 23rd, Chuck Gafrarar reached another goal--to qualify and run at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Charlotte NC. As driver of the Goody's Dash NASCAR Touring ICEHOUSE, I. H. CAFFEY #26, Gafrarar took the bull by the horns and qualified 11th out of 38 entries! During happy hour, of the Tom Johnson Camping Center 150, Gafrarar ranked 5th fastest.
Gafrarar, looking towards his first win of the season, steadly moved the #26 to the front and up to 6th spot. A re-start, after another car spun, had Gafrarar attempting to work towards 5th spot, when his car would not come up to speed. Another pit to try and correct the problem failed. His first career win of the season was foiled as the #26 motor suffered internal engine problems and was taken behind the wall. Car #26 is the Team of Moss Motorsports, Joe & Darryl Moss.
