Las Vegas - Chuck Trickle continued his chase for the NASCAR Late Model points title by winning the 40-lap main event at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Dick Cobb, the track points leader in the NASCAR Late Model division, took the lead on lap 10, but Trickle stole the point from Cobb just after the halfway mark.

A late race caution caused a two-lap shootout to the checkered flag, but Cobb could not pass Trickle on the 3/8-mile paved oval.

"Dick Cobb is as tough as they get on the West Coast," said Trickle, leader of the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Sunbelt Region points standings. "He hung with me and gave me a great race."

In other racing, Kyle Busch swept with a victory in the Grand American Modified division and Hitchin' Post/Exiss Legends Cars. Busch, whose older brother Kurt has won the last two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events, dedicated his win to NASCAR Winston Cup star Kenny Irwin, who died Friday, with a backwards victory lap.

"This car hates cautions," said Busch after a caution-free Grand American Modified race. "To get a clean race was great. Traffic was a deal in the beginning but we got through it."

Mark Schottmuller won the Mini-Stock feature. Keith Danser took the victory in the Charger division. Jim Bunty won the Bandolero main event, and Morris Sealy won the Motorhome race.
