LAS VEGAS - Saturday night will be the final NASCAR Weekly Racing Series event of the season at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. General admission to the "Night of Champions" will be $5 in honor of LVMS' fifth anniversary.

LVMS hosted the Inaugural Indy Racing League Las Vegas 500K on Sept. 15, 1996. This marked the first of many events for LVMS.

The "Night of Champions" will be the last chance for fans to cheer their favorite NWRS driver to victory. The championships for NASCAR Late Models, Grand American Modifieds, Chargers, Hitchin' Post/Exiss Legends Cars and Bandolero Cars will be determined. Demolition derby drivers will compete in a tire race.

LVMS also will join race fans in paying tribute to the many Americans killed and injured in this week's tragic attach by having the fans sing the National Anthem prior to the racing action.

Rookie and points leader Jason Allen looks to clinch his first NASCAR Late Model championship. Veterans Steve Anderson and Ray Hooper Jr. threaten the rookie's lead. Allen leads Anderson by 18 points and Hooper by 21.

Doug Hamm continues to lead the Grand American Modified division. Hamm has a mere two-point lead over 2000 track champion Fabian Bray.

Don Sargent took over as the Charger division points leader. One point separates Pat Petrie Sr. and Sargent, who were tied for the lead prior to the last race.

Spencer Clark is the only driver who has clinched a division championship before the final race of the season. Clark leads Kyle Busch by 71 points in the Hitchin' Post/Exiss Legends Cars division.

Joey Mogar has a four-point lead over Alex Haase in the Bandolero Car division.

Pit gates open at 2:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 6:30 p.m. General admission is $5 for adults/senior citizens/military personnel and $3 for children 6-12. Children five and under are free. Admission to the Stockyard is $25 per vehicle maximum of four people (each additional person is $5).
