LAS VEGAS - NASCAR officials have announced the postponement of all sanctioned events scheduled for this weekend, including Las Vegas Motor Speedway's NASCAR Weekly Racing Series event at the Bullring.

The "Night of Champions," scheduled for Saturday evening at the Bullring, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22. The Series includes NASCAR Late Models, Grand American Modifieds, Hitchin' Post/Exiss Legends Cars, Chargers and Bandolero Cars.

"This was certainly a tough decision for NASCAR to have to make," said Chris Powell, LVMS' executive vice president and general manager. "NASCAR has our full support in this decision. There's no question that auto racing is not a high priority right now. We need to keep the people involved in this tragedy in our thoughts and prayers." Tickets previously purchased for Saturday will be honored Sept. 22.

Cross Road Adventures officials have announced the postponement of the World Off Road Series scheduled for this weekend at the motocross track at LVMS.

The fourth round of the World Off Road Series Championship was scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 16 at LVMS' motocross track. No makeup date has been set.
