Alderman second in Sunbelt Region feature division standings.

LAS VEGAS-- NASCAR Late Model driver Thane Alderman is second in the Sunbelt Region feature division standings. In addition, the Las Vegan leads track points at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Alderman is vying to become the third Las Vegan to win a regional championship in the last five years. Mike Ray won the 1998 regional championship and Dick Cobb was the 2000 regional champion. Ironically, Cobb owns the No. 9 Orleans-sponsored late model of Alderman.

Madera Speedway's Scott Winters leads the region with a Competition Performance Index of .8113, while Alderman has a .7917. The index is used to rank the track leaders in each of the eight regions across the country.

The Sunbelt Region is comprised of speedways in Alabama, Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas.
