LAS VEGAS - Henderson's Keith Danser is a weekly competitor at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but on August 12, Danser will be taking on a different role.

Danser, who drives the No. 95.5 KWNR/Albertson's sponsored Charger, has hosted an annual candy toss since 1997 where all Charger drivers toss candy into the grandstands. This Saturday night, Danser has taken that a step further.

With more than $1,000 of his own money and additional help from sponsors, Danser has donated more than 4,000 items to be given to young race fans. In addition to the candy toss, Danser and his helpers have stuffed 450 goody bags filled with prizes such as Frisbees, bubbles, Mardi Gras beads, crayons, Hot Wheels, stuffed animals and squirt guns.

"When we started this four years ago, the candy toss was just something for the kids. At that time nobody was doing anything for the kids," said Danser. "The first year, Lucky's donated the candy and New Country gave away some key chains. It has gotten bigger and bigger each year. This is definitely the biggest year.

"I did this because in the past we had great success. Going into the future with the new track, we wanted the fans to know that we are there for them as much as they are there for us."

Danser also has donated two new bicycles, a Webber BBQ grill, a Star Wars ice chest, Frisbees, shirts and visors with the Coyote Ugly logo, a new Warner-Brothers movie, and Albertson's shirts.

Danser has three victories in his six-year racing career. All have come at The Bullring in 2000. In 1995, his rookie season, he was named Sportsman of the Year. That was the first time a rookie in the Limited Late Model division had received the honor.
