LAS VEGAS-- As temperatures rise in the valley, race action at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway heats up at The Orleans NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge Saturday night.

The series includes NASCAR Late Models, NASCAR Outlaw Stocks, Legends Cars, Bandolero Cars and Mechanix Wear Speed Trucks.

Championship points battles are in full swing midway through the season. Scott Gafforini has an eight-point lead over Thane Alderman in the NASCAR Late Model division. The two drivers consistently battled for position on the track and provide exciting race action.

NASCAR Outlaw Stock driver Glen Burke proved strong in the early season, but has struggled recently to keep his point lead. Consistency has given rookie Len DeJoria the advantage to tie the championship points battle with Burke. Both drivers will compete to take the lead in the division.

David Anderson took over the lead in the Legends Cars championship point standings after a fifth-place finish May 18. Rob Guevara trails Anderson by a mere three points. Race fans can expect close action in this division.

Pit gates open at 2:30 p.m. Admission to the pits is $20 for NASCAR members and $25 for non-members.

Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. General admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens/ military personnel and $3 for children 6-12. Children five and under are free. A Family Four Pack can be purchased for $25. Admission to the Stockyard is $35 per vehicle (up to four people).
