Last chance for two local drivers to win at the Bullring before graduation
LAS VEGAS– Rookies Jason Allen and Kyle Busch will make their last appearance of the season at the Bullring for the 11th Annual NASCAR Late Model Classic presented by Star Nursery Saturday night before graduating to separate NASCAR touring series next year.
Allen, the Bullring’s NASCAR Late Model champion and rookie of the year, will compete full time in the NASCAR Southwest Series next year for Wolfe Motorsports. The 28-year-old won two races this season and looks to collect his third.
“We love the racetrack here and hopefully we can get our third win of the year here,” Allen said.“ We want to run good for the fans that have supported us all year.”
Busch will compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series full time in 2002 for Roush Racing as a rookie. The 16-year-old will make the impressive move after his rookie year in a NASCAR Late Model in which he won 10 of 15 starts.
“ We would like to have the same success that we have had all year long,” Busch said.“ We are going to have fun since it is our last race at the Bullring.”
In addition to NASCAR Late Models, Mechanix Wear Speed Trucks return to the Bullring for a 100-lap feature race.
Pit gates open at 1:00 p.m. Spectator gates open at 4:00 p.m. Time trials begin at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m.
