LAS VEGAS -- The Orleans NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series will resume this Saturday at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The series will run every Saturday night with the exception of a three-week break in July. The weekly series began Feb. 27 and is slated to conclude Sept. 13.

Super Late Models, Late Models, Chargers, Legends Cars, Bandolero Cars and Thunder Roadsters complete the card.

Although it is early in the season, race fans can expect the points battles to heat up. Drivers are looking to get a head start in the race for the championship.

After the first Super Late Model race of the season, Mike Cofer leads Scott Gafforini and the 2002 champion Thane Alderman in the point standings.

The Legends Cars division is divided into three divisions: Masters, Pro and Semi-Pro. Rick Rogas leads the Master division, John Burritt the Pro division and Taylor Barton the Semi-Pro division.

This will be the first race of the season for Late Models, Chargers and Bandolero Cars.

Spectator gates open at 6 p.m. with qualifying at 6:30 and racing at 7:15. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens/military personnel and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children five and under are free.

Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. Admission for members is $20 and $25 for non- members.
