Braselton, Ga. (August 14, 2004) -- Three drivers with ties to the upper tier of NASCAR racing visited victory lane Saturday on Akins Ford/Dodge Fan Appreciation Night at Lanier National Speedway.

Ryan Sieg, the younger brother of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Shane Sieg, took the lead from Tony Bennett with 28 laps remaining then hung on to win the 50-lap Akins Ford Pro Late Model feature event.

Sieg managed to hold off Tony Bennett, Richey Etheridge and Dwayne Buggay following a late-race caution which bunched the field.

"This really means a lot," said Sieg, a 17-year old resident of Tucker and student at Lakeside High School. "I was trying different things in those last few laps to try to beat them."

Second-generation driver Brian Sosebee of Dawsonville made his first trip to the winner's circle after leading 24 of 25 laps in the Simpson's Trucking & Sportsman division.

Sosebee, son of the late NASCAR great Gober Sosebee, made the winning move on pole sitter J.L. Tullis on the second lap.

"My car handled sweet tonight," Sosebee said. "It was ideal and it ran good."

"I knew J.L. was right there on my bumper and I was trying to keep him off of me."

Keven Wood, son of NASCAR Nextel Cup car owner Len Wood, made his first trip to Lanier National Speedway a memorable one after leading the final 10 laps of the Commerce Dodge Legends Pro feature.

"This is an awesome track," Wood said. "We got here earlier today and didn't have a lot of grip and we thought this was going to be a disaster."

"But it cooled off, we got a lot of grip, and we hooked up and went."

Other winners were Rob Young in the Team Ford of Marietta Trucks, Kevin Eskew in Billy Howell Ford Modified Minis, Spanky Hicks in Garrison Racing Factor Fours, Brian Litwiler in Commerce Dodge Legends Semi-Pro, and Brian Weimer in Commerce Dodge Legends Masters.
