October 27, 2000 - - Irwindale Speedway is very proud of today's NASCAR announcement that Tim Evans, of Long Beach has been voted the prestigious True Value Mechanic of the Year Award in the Pacific Coast Region.

Tim was crew chief and co-owner on the division-winning #27 NASCAR Super Stock Chevrolet Camaro driven by Jeff "Wild Thing" Green, also of Long Beach. Green's strong racing record at Irwindale this year included four fast times, three main event wins, four dash wins, and fifteen top five finishes.

Irwindale Speedway today announced the one-race sponsorship of Bob and Kay Keselowski's #29 Craftsman Series Truck for Saturday's California Speedway event. Truck Series regular Terry Cook will drive the Dodge truck in the season-ending Motorola 200.

Irwindale's Vice President/COO, Bob DeFazio indicated, "We're big fans of the Keselowski's ... They're great people we're very pleased to be a part of their racing effort here at California Speedway. Our track has already been the springboard for many top racers and will continue be in the future. We wish the #29 truck and all the drivers well tomorrow!"
