GREENVILLE, SC (March 11, 2002)- The Greenville Pickens Speedway will roar to life for a 57th season of NASCAR Weekly Racing Series action this Saturday, March 16. Sprint PCS Opening Night 2002 will feature a 35 lap Late Model feature event, with additional racing action scheduled for the Super Stock, Street Stock, and Charger divisions. Charlie Munson of WESC will host a pre-race ceremony to salute the troops in Afghanistan, with members of the US Army Special Forces participating. A large post race fireworks extravaganza, sponsored by B.F. Goodrich Racing, will take place at the conclusion of the races.

General admission gates will open at 4pm on Saturday, with the first race scheduled for 8pm. Adult general admission will be $10.00, with children under 12 admitted free with a paying adult. The first 4,000 fans through the gate will receive a free NASCAR Winston Cup and Greenville Pickens Speedway 2002 race schedule, courtesy of THE GREENVILLE NEWS.
