Humphrey reins it in and hangs on to wild ride to finish 9th.

GREENVILLE,SC (July 13, 2002) Randy Humphrey adds another top 10 finish to his racing portfolio.

Randy Humphrey in the Eastwood Homes #93 Pontiac had a rough ride in the Goody's Dash Series NASCAR Touring Event on Saturday night at the Greenville- Pickens Speedway in South Carolina.

Humphrey qualified with at 21.623 and found himself starting in the 16 spot at the green. After qualifying, he and his crew chief discussed loosening the car up a bit. "I was a little tight today earlier so we decided to loosen the car up a bit. I think we made it al little too loose," said Humphrey. He pitted and the crew made a few adjustments. To preserve is place on the track, Humphrey decided not to mess with it and just ride it out. "I am pretty sore after this one, that was some hard driving," Humphrey said with a smile. "I don't think we'll try loosing up a car that much again," he added.

Humphrey is currently 8th in points out of 68 drivers and looks forward to the Goody's Dash Series NASCAR Touring event at Southern National Speedway in Kenly, North Carolina on July 27th.
