BECHTELSVILLE, PA AUGUST 11, 2001 . . . Another rainout at Grandview Speedway on Saturday has forced track management to make some changes in their schedule of coming events.

The show that had been planned for Saturday, August 11, the Forrest Rogers Memorial 50-lapper for NASCAR Modifieds and 20-lap feature for NASCAR Late Models has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 19, 7:30 p.m.

The Forrest Rogers Memorial, run in memory of the man who designed and created the Berks County clay one-third-mile oval, will pay $10,000 to the winner on Sunday, August 19. In addition there is at least $500 in lap money for the 50 lap modified event. The lap money has been posted by www.phillyracing.com.

With the Forrest Rogers Memorial now being set for Sunday, August 19, there will be a regular show of NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models, at least 12 events of stock car racing, presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 18. The events will be sponsored by Auto Locator and Arnold's Go Kart Center.

With close point battles going on in both divisions of competition, fans can expect stellar fields of racers in the NASCAR Modifieds and in the NASCAR Late Models as the season winds down to the final weeks.

Fans are reminded that rain checks from the August 4 event can be used for the August 18th events (no refunds) or August 19. Those not having a rain check for the August 19th event will pay $15.00 for an adult ticket.

And to get fans ready for the weekend of racing action. coming up this Thursday, August 16, 7:30 p.m. will be an exciting evening of big block modified stock car racing sanctioned by the D.I.R.T. organization. The Bob Miller/Bruce Rogers Advance Auto Parts DYNOMAX Thunder on the Hill promotion will feature a full series of qualifying events topped by a 100-lap Traffic Jam feature. Several outstanding Grandview Speedway racers will participate including Meme DeSantis in the new Sheetz Gasoline/Magine Wand Car Wash sponsored entry.

Expected to be on hand to represent the DIRT Series travelers will be Brett Hearn, Steve Paine, Doug Hoffman, Jimmy Horton, Kenny Brightbill and a host of others.

Also making up part of the evening's activities will be the opportunity for fans to meet many of the veteran performers who competed at the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway along with some of the officials. Those activities will start at 5:30 p.m.

Coming up on Saturday, August 25, will be the Kreiser Race Fuels/Tremont Quik Stop Night featuring the NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models at 7:30 p.m.

Racers and fans are reminded that the annual T.H.Properties Freedom 76 stock car classic will be presented on Saturday, September 8. The annual golf tournament is set for Thursday, September 6 at Gilbertsville, PA Golf Club.
