BECHTELSVILLE, PA MAY 26, 2001 . . . Mother Nature made another visit to the Grandview Speedway on Saturday and she made the farmers happy. She brought more rain. She did not make the racers and their fans happy as for the third time this season rain washed out the NASCAR sanctioned stock car racing that had been scheduled for Saturday night, May 26. More than 90 NASCAR Modifieds and NASCAR Late Models were expected to be on hand for the Arnold's GoKart Center/Gatorade sponsored night of racing. The events will be rescheduled for a later date. Racing returns to the Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA on Sunday, May 27, 7:30 p.m. when the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Super Summer Series 410 sprints and United Racing Club Bar's Leaks sprint cars are seen in a doubleheader show. The Sunday night event is promoted by Bruce Rogers and Bob Miller and is expected to attract many of the very best talents in sprint car racing. In addition an autograph session will be presented at 5:30 p.m. Ticket windows will open for the general public at 5 p.m. And on Saturday, June 2, Black Horse Auto Body will present a doubleheader card of NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models, at least 12 exciting events of stock car racing, starting at 7:30 p.m. Gates for spectators open at 5:30 p.m. Craig VonDohren (Barto, PA) continues to set the pace in the chase for the NASCAR Modified title while Dean Stoudt (East Greenville, PA) sits on top of the standings as he chases his fifth NASCAR Late Model title at the Berks County oval.
