** National Hot Rod Association: Larry Dixon beat defending Top Fuel champion Kenny Bernstein in the final round to win the K&N Filters NHRA Winternationals. The race was the first event in which the Goodyear D1430 was the mandated tire for the Top Fuel and Funny Car classes.

"It will withstand the heat a little better," Dixon said of the D1430. "This tire looks a little better after a run than the other tire."

John Force won the Funny Car final. It was the 99th victory of Force's career and he got the win after a wild race with Del Worsham. "The problem was I had the front end up (in the air)," Force said. "We smacked her down on those Goodyears and kept going."

In all, Goodyear won six of the 10 classes. George Marnell was the Pro Stock winner and said of his Goodyear tires, "The tires did a really good job on that last pass. ... I'll put those tires right back on the car. I think they've got eight passes on them."

The other Goodyear winners included Mike DePalma (Competition Eliminator), Ken Passerby (Stock Eliminator) and David Coapstick (Super Gas).

** Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring: Robert Huffman won the Daytona USA 150 at Daytona International Speedway, averaging 133.813 mph. Huffman beat runner up Jake Hobgood to the finish by just .168 of a second.

Eric Wilson finished third, Cam Strader was fourth and Justin Hobgood took fifth.

Justin Hobgood won the Gatorade Frontrunner Award by leading the most laps. Larry Caudill won the Bud Pole Award with a lap averaging 163.497 mph.
