Rain Washes New Egypt Speedway Sked

(April 15) -- Persistent rain and the threat of more to come forced New Egypt Speedway officials to pull the plug before noon on Saturday's scheduled five-division card of URC Sprints, Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks and Rookies.

Racing at the Central Jersey oval will resume this Saturday, April 22, with the boppin' Bunny Hop -- an action-jammed bill of Modifieds, Sportsman and Street Stocks. Also on the schedule is the third event in Mid-State Communications' competitive Rookie Series -- watch a strong field of newcomers fight for the title of King of the Kids! Plus, the Easter Bunny himself will be on hand, to greet the littlest fans and oversee the track's annual Easter egg hunt.

Gates open at 2:30 p.m. for the Bunny Hop, with warm-ups at 4:30 and the first green flying at 5:30 p.m. Adult admission is $12, children 7-2 are $4 and kids 6 and under are free.

The very popular URC Sprints, rained out this week, will now make their New Egypt Speedway season debut on Saturday, May 13, along with the Mother's Day tribute. Also upcoming: Shammy Shine Car Wash Night on April 29, and Mid-State Communications Race Page Night on May 6.
