LOUDON, N.H. (July 7, 2000) John Blewett III of Howell, N.J., drove to the second Featherlite Modified Series, NASCAR Touring victory of his career in Friday's thatlook.com 100 at New Hampshire International Speedway.

The race featured a series record 30 lead changes among 10 different drivers. Blewett started 29th in the Mastrobattiso Contracting Pontiac and worked his way to the front spot taking the lead for the first time on lap 72. He led another six different times, taking the top spot for the final time on lap 93 from Reggie Ruggiero of Rocky Hill, Conn.

The torrid battle for the lead continued over the final seven laps as Mike Christopher of Plainville, Conn., and Tim Connolly of Endicott, N.Y., crossed the line just a few feet behind Blewett. Blewett's margin of victory was only .054 seconds over Christopher.

"I knew we would have a good car in the race after the final practice," Blewett said of his $17,650 victory. "I didn't know how long it would take to get to the front, but the car was so strong it didn't matter. This was the most exciting race I've had here. To win one is really special."

Connolly's third place finish kept him atop the Featherlite Modified Series point standings. Ruggiero finished fourth and Tommy Cravenho of Raynham, Mass., rounded out the top-5 finishers.

Jerry Marquis, Charlie Pasteryak, Mike Ewanitsko, Chris Kopec and Jimmy Broderick finished sixth through 10th.
