NASCAR Friday "Bud Bowl" FACT SHEET

WHAT: NASCAR Friday "Bud Bowl", featuring the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Grand American Modifieds, ShorTrack Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Bumpin Bombers on the all-new 1/3-mile clay oval. Plus the Figure 8 cars on the criss-crossing Figure 8 track.

WHEN: Friday May 18, 2001. Gates open at 5pm, with Qualifying Heats at 6:45pm, with Trophy Dashes and main events to follow.

NOTES OF INTERESTS:

* Richard Whiteman won his first race of the season last Saturday night, as the Grand American Modified class took to the monster half-mile for the first time this season.

* Dale Holland dominated the ShorTrack Sportsman field last Friday in route to his first victory of the year.

* Organ and Tissue donor cards from the Oregon Donor Program will be available at Portland Speedway throughout the 2001 racing season.

* Lisa Tanner put her name in the Portland Speedway record books after capturing the inaugural win in the WAR! Women's Auto Racing division. The ladies will return Friday, May 25 to the third-mile clay oval.

* Upcoming special events include the Memorial Day Factory Stock Car Enduro Monday, May 28. I-5 Outlaw Dirt Late Model Series, Friday, June 15, and the Annual Open Wheel Spectacular featuring the USAC Western States Midgets along with the hy-per-lube Northern Sprint Tour Saturday, June 23.
