ROGELIO LOPEZ LOOKS FOR THE WIN AT STAFFORD IN THE BUSCH EAST SERIES

STAFFORD SPRINGS, Connecticut (June 7, 2007) - Rogelio Lopez, who currently is second in championship and also in the point standings for the Rookie of the Year, will look for this Friday to achieve his first victory in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series, during round 5 of the season, which will be held at the 0.500-mile Stafford Motor Speedway.

Rogelio headed this Thursday to the track to check final details with his team and they have been working hard preparing the car they will use this weekend, because the one Rogelio used for last race at South Boston was damaged after an accident that caused the leaders -including Rogelio, being involved in a second accident towards the end of the race when being unable to avoid the cars wrecked in the first accident.

"We are very happy getting Stafford. The last race result (5th) encourages us to keep working. Unfortunately with the accident that we had at the end of the competition, we lost that car for this race. It was a very reliable car, that we tested with and we had good finishes with it in previous races," the NASCAR Mexico Corona Series said.

"However, I really feel very happy because the team has been working very hard during those three-four days after the race at South Boston. The guys when seeing that we are second in the championship, that we have been competitive and we have the chance to win races, they made extra efforts and at the end, we did only the final details with the position of the steering wheel and the pedals in the car. I see all in the team in a very good mood for this weekend," Escuderia Telmex driver said.

"The backup car is almost in the same conditions than the other one was. They've just worked on a few details to improve it. This car is kind of a copy of our previous car. Therefore, I don't think we will have problems with it this weekend. It was installed a refreshed spec engine for this race, so we hope to be very competitive and clinch our first win of the season," Telmex/Lucas Oil sponsored driver said.
