Mike Gallo Signs Komatsu and C.N. Wood For NHIS Busch East Race
Loudon, N.H. (June 28, 2007) - Mike Gallo and the entire JBR Racing team is proud to announce that its familiar No. 88 Ford Taurus NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series car will be sporting a new paint job for this weekend's New England 125 at New Hampshire International Speedway. With sponsorship from Komatsu and C.N. Wood Co. on his car, the previously blue car will now be yellow and black for Friday's race.
"We signed Komatsu Equipment and C.N. Wood out of Woburn, Massachusetts for a one-race deal this weekend," Gallo said. "We'll be showing their colors all through the weekend, and we're proud to have their yellow and black colors on our car as the JBR Racing Ford becomes the Komatsu Ford. We're looking forward to representing them and doing a good job for them at what should be a big race for us."
Gallo, the Saco, Maine driver who owns a pole position at the one-mile NHIS track in Busch East competition, is welcoming primary sponsorship for the first time in the brief history of JBR Motorsports.
"It's taken three years of hard work to get to this point," he said. "Jim Burgess and our other driver, Larry Moloney, have been working really hard getting ready for this race. We've always run really well at this track and now we're at the point where we've attracted corporate sponsorship. We've got a great race team and I'm happy for everybody that we've got ourselves a sponsor and show them what we're capable of. We come here and we're running against cars that come from Hendrick and Rusty Wallace and some other incredible teams here. To come out here and run as well as we have so far is encouraging."
The car that Gallo has been running at NHIS is currently a show car at C.N. Wood's Woburn, Mass. showroom. The car he's racing at NHIS is a new car pressed into service after testing at the Magic Mile in May.
"We're running a car that we're not all that familiar with," he said. "We came here and tested and that test didn't go as well as we'd liked so we worked really hard to get this second car ready. We've got Cosworth power under the hood and Todd Graffam and Steve Bird calling the shots so we should have a good race on Friday."
