POSTED AWARDS: $123,360 (Including $10,780 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship point fund money)

FIELD: 42 cars (Fastest 35 through one round of time trials, consisting of two laps. Provisional Positions 36th thru 39th have been established, which will be available to any of the top 30 drivers in the final 2001 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship point standings, who have not qualified for one of the original 35 starting positions. Provisional Positions 40th and 41st have been established up to two additional starting positions which will be available to the highest 30 car owners in the final 2001 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship point standings, who have not qualified for one of the original 35 starting positions. Provisional Position 42nd has been established for one additional starting position which will be assigned to any Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Champion driver who participated as a driver in the 2001 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring and who did not qualify for one of the original 35 starting positions. If no former Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Champion driver is assigned this position, it will then be assigned to the next eligible car based on time trial speed for this Event. If a provisional still remains unfilled, then that provisional position will become available to the next available car from the qualifying procedure for this Event.

NOTES OF INTEREST:

* Defending event winner, Justin Hobgood returns to defend his race championship. Justin finished second in the 2001 series' title chase. Robert Huffman won the July 2001 event at Daytona.

* Two-time series' Champion, and three- time winner at Daytona, Larry Caudill posted the fastest time in winter testing in preparation for this event. Caudill will be driving for Crenshaw Motorsports, whose entry sat on the pole for the 2001 event.

* The 2002 Daytona USA.com "150" will be 20 laps shorter (50 miles) than in previous years.

* Series' defending Champion, Cam Strader, has switched car makes for this event. In 2001, he campaigned in a Mercury Cougar. "We have switched to the Ford Escort ZX2 for the race at Daytona. We feel that the body style will provide a better handling aero-package," commented Strader.

* 2001 Bud Pole was won by driver Derrick Kelley of Lakeland, Florida with a speed of 163.482 mph. The slowest speed was 155.661 mph.

* 2001 Top 10 finishers: 1. Justin Hobgood, 2. Derrick Kelley, 3. Tim Nichols, 4. Scott Weaver, 5. B. J. Mackey, 6. Robert Huffman, 7. Joey Miller, 8. Cam Strader, 9. Roger Sawyer, 10. Shane Hmiel.

* MAG-KLIP Rookie of the Year Contenders will include: Kelly "Girl" Sutton, Brian Loftin, James Trout, Chuck Gafrarar, and Eric Wilson. Each of these drivers have limited experience in the Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring.
