Daytona Beach, Florida (January 19, 2001) Mike Simons, series director announced today that Darlington Raceway has scheduled an open practice for the Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring in preparation for their upcoming event at the famed 1.366 high-banked oval. The track, "Too Tough to Tame" will play host to the Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12, 2001. The open practice has been scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2001. Garages will open at 7:00am and close at 5:00pm with a rain date set for Sunday, April 1, 2001. If the rain date is needed the garages will open at 11:00am and close at 6:00pm. Any driver wishing to participate during the test must have a valid 2001 NASCAR Dash Drivers License, and a NASCAR Driver's Resume' approved through the Daytona Beach Office prior to test date in order to participate at Darlington Raceway. All cars must have fully operational air deflector and full window on the right side of the cars with the side window inset ¾ inch along the door top, up the "A" post and along the roof. All fuel cells must have a NASCAR seal, sealed in the year 2000 or after, before you will be allowed on the track for practice.
