CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY CONTINUES FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA -- As part of continuing efforts to provide fans with the best possible entertainment experience, California Speedway has re-striped three primary parking lots.
"Our efforts to ease entrance and exit times for our major event weekends have been wildly successful. Through the assistance of Gameday Management Group, we've been able to significantly reduce and nearly eliminate any traffic flow backups for fans," said Gillian Zucker, President of California Speedway. While the 2007 Auto Club 500 set a new benchmark for ease of entrance and exit for races at California Speedway, we were disappointed with the load times for fans entering from Etiwanda Blvd. This re-striping of lots 3, 4 and 5 should make any backups experienced there, a thing of the past."
With counsel and recommendations from leading special event transportation services company Gameday Management Group, California Speedway began the implementation of a parking lot re-striping process on June 12 with the goal of improving on an already successful entrance, parking and exit plan. The re-striping of parking areas will result in less maneuvering in the lots and promote easier egress from the track after races. Estimates have shown that the affect of each individual brake application can extend at least half a mile.
The process of re-sealing and re-striping the lots is expected to be concluded later this week.
As always, parking at California Speedway is free of charge and fans may select their preferred parking lot when they purchase their tickets. As part of that process, Clickandpark.com will provide customized directions for race fans from their starting location to the Speedway.
