Cam Strader won the Pabst Blue Ribbon 150 and Justin Hobgood set a record in qualifying, but the story of this race was in one statistic.

Only driver that finished among the top five in the race started there. The tightly competitive series, aided by fast, dependable Goodyear tires, gave the fans in attendance a memorable exhibition of passing.

Strader started 13th. Robert Huffman, who finished second by just .604 of a second, started sixth. Johnny Chapman finished third after starting ninth, Scott Weaver ended the race fourth after starting fifth and fifth finisher Keith Roggen started 22nd.

Strader averaged 74.053 mph over the 150-lap distance.

Hobgood set the qualifying record with a lap of 16.062 seconds (119.462 mph), bettering the existing record by more than .2 of a second.
