Sixth In Busch North Series Points, Ryan Moore Looks Forward To NASCAR Showdown
As the autumn air turns the leaves to bright shades in the Northeast, some Busch Grand National Drivers will begin to pack up their transporters and race cars for the winter. This year the Moore Racing Teams will be doing just the opposite. Both Kelly and Ryan Moore will head west to Irwindale, California to compete in the 2nd Annual Toyota All-Star Showdown.
The event will take place November 11-13, 2004, and will include drivers from both the NASCAR Grand National West and Grand National North Series. Drivers who finished in the top-fifteen in their series will receive an invitation to the event, and the field will be made up of thirty drivers. Other events at Irwindale will include drivers from the four Elite series of NASCAR.
"It's a really great place to travel to," Ryan said of Irwindale Speedway, "It gives us all something to look forward to once our season has ended."
This is just one of the exciting events that young Ryan Moore has going on in his life right now. After a sixth place finish in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series Point Standings, he has also achieved himself a spot on the Dale Earnhardt Inc. Team as part of their driver development program. This 21-year old driver has made an outstanding start to his racing career, with many thanks to his father Kelly Moore and grandfather Richard Moore. "They made me what I am today and they have made all these exciting things possible for me. I have both of them to thank for all that I have achieved and the road that's ahead of me."
Ryan Moore received continuous help from DEI members throughout his season. "They gave me tips about difficult tracks, they helped us with set-ups, and they were always there when I had any kind of question. I am really looking forward to working with all of them."
Ryan would also like to thank both Moore Racing Teams for another outstanding season. "It was a very successful year for both teams," said young Moore, "Everyone worked together well and our communication improved along the way."
The Moore Racing Teams will continue to work busily until they head to California late next week. The Toyota NASCAR All-Star Showdown will be broadcast live on SpeedTV, with preliminary races being held Friday night and the features Saturday night.
