DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 24, 2003) -- NASCAR Grand National Division officials have announced three penalties against members of the No. 35 Busch North Series team, following the Sept. 13 Busch North Series event at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, N.H.

Brad Leighton, driver of car No. 35, was penalized by the loss of 50 championship driver points, under section 12-4-A of the 2003 NASCAR rule book: actions detrimental to stock car racing and section 12-4-Q: any determination by NASCAR officials that parts or equipment used in the event do not conform to NASCAR rules, unapproved carburetor boosters. In addition, car owner Robert Torriere was penalized 50 championship owner points and crew chief Peter Duto was fined $1,000 for the infraction.
