Wolfe finishes sixth at New Hampshire.
09/14/02 Loudon, NH -- After turning in the weekend's fastest practice time (at 29.829 seconds or 127.688 mph) and qualifying sixth in Bud Pole Qualifying on Friday, Paul Wolfe finished sixth in the Busch North Series' New Hampshire 125 today at New Hampshire International Speedway. "The SCOTT Products®/Heinz USA Chevy was pretty tight all day. We picked up some left front fender damage when the 40 car made contact, and that hurt us pretty badly by making the tight condition worse," said Wolfe. "We held on in the top-ten with a lot of bumping around us, and got a good run at the end, so we'll take this finish and move on to Dover next week."
The "Magic Mile" claimed 12 of 34 starters due to mechanical problems, and was extended from the scheduled 125 to 137 laps in order to achieve a green flag finish, as mandated by Busch North Series rules. In the end, Tracy Gordon would take the checkered flag just 0.157 seconds ahead of Andy Santere. Brad Leighton took third, and Bud Pole winner Kelly Moore and Mike Olsen rounded out the top five. Next it was Wolfe, followed by Mike Rowe, Mike Johnson, Matt Kobyluck, and Dave Dion rounding out the top ten and lead lap finishers.
Wolfe's next race is this coming Friday's MBNA All-American Heroes 150 at Dover International Speedway. Qualifying is scheduled for Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The green flag will fly at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20.
