The green flag flew and Moore took an early lead on Leighton, however the caution came out before Moore could complete lap one. Barney McCrae, Greg Schaefer and Travis Benjamin piled up on the start finish line, Schaefer was the only competitor that was unable to finish the race.
Racing resumes on lap 6 and Moore took the lead over Leighton. Truex Jr moved into third as Moore, Leighton and Truex Jr. pulled away from the rest of the field. By lap 13 Leighton tried on the inside of Moore but the 1995 Busch North Series Champion blocked and held on to first. With Truex Jr on his bumper, Leighton got out of the draft and moved back to fifth. On lap 33 Truex Jr. fought Moore for the lead and was able to get by Moore. As Truex jr. passed Moore, the second caution of the day was displayed after Jerry Marquis blew his engine exiting turn one. Moore takes his pit stop under caution, taking on two tires and gasoline. After a good stop by the NAPA pit crew, Moore got back out on the track in 12th position. The restart took place on lap 38 with Ted Christopher as the leader. By lap 59 Moore moved into 10th by passing Dave Dion and Mike Gallo. Moore gained another position on lap 62, passing Jamie Aube placing the NAPA team into ninth at the halfway point.
At the head of the pack the lead was being swapped between Christopher and Tom Carey Jr. Carey took over the top spot on lap 105 and Moore also moved up a spot passing Tracy Gordon for eighth. Moore's run to the front continued as he took seventh spot from Dale Quarterly with only nine laps remaining.
With three laps to go, race leader Carey cut a tire and hit the turn four wall, handing the race lead and victory to Ted Christopher. Moore finished the 125-lap event in the sixth spot, his 20th finish in the top 10 at New Hampshire International Speedway.
The NAPA team has this weekend off from racing, but they will be on display at the NAPA Auto Parts Store in Westbrook on Larrabee Rd on Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th. They will also be at the Bonney Eagle Car Show on Sunday May 20th. Their next Busch North race is on May 26th at Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts.
