LOUDON, NH (July 17, 2003) -- Paul Wolfe is excited to be back at New Hampshire. This weekend's four-division program hosted by New Hampshire International Speedway, which also includes the NASCAR Busch Series, Featherlite Modified Series and the Winston Cup Series, marks the first time this season the Grand National Division, Busch North Series will see a track a mile or more in length.
"I have always favored racing on the speedways," Wolfe said. "New Hampshire is a fast and fun track, and I have had some success here in the past. This is a great facility for the fans, and it also adds to the excitement to have the Busch and Winston Cup teams here."
Wolfe qualified the Tops Friendly Markets Dodge 15th out of a field of 39 cars earlier today with a time of 31.034 seconds (122.730 miles per hour). He drove the fifth-fastest car in both practice sessions.
The Busch North New England 125 schedule is split between today and Saturday in order to accommodate the other programs. Practice and qualifying were today. After a day off Friday, the Busch North Series competitors take to the "Magic Mile" for a 30-minute final practice at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, with the 125- lap, 132.25 mile race set for approximately 3 p.m. following the Busch Series victory lane ceremonies.
Wolfe has four career top-tens and two top-fives at NHIS. In 2002 Wolfe finished ninth in the July race and was sixth in the September race. In 2001, Wolfe was fifth in the May race and 15th in the July race. In 2000, Wolfe was fifth in the September race.
SPEED Channel will broadcast the New England 125 on Saturday, August 9 at 10 a.m.
