LesCare Kitchens Announces 2002 Racing Program with Andy Santerre
Waterbury, Connecticut. - LesCare Kitchens, Inc. and its motorsports division, LesCare Kitchens Racing, Inc. is pleased to announce that they have teamed up with veteran NASCAR driver Andy Santerre and Charlotte, North Carolina based, Andy Santerre Motorsports. LesCare Kitchens Racing and Santerre, in his well-known #44 Chevrolet, plan to compete for the 2002 NASCAR Busch North Series Championship.
Santerre, the 1998 Busch Series "Rookie of the Year," looks forward to racing in New England once again after spending the last four years racing in the NASCAR Busch Series. "I am excited to team up with LesCare Kitchens and run for the Busch North Champi onship. I have accomplished more than I ever dreamed I would during my racing career but I have never won a NASCAR Championship. My goal is to be able to add that title to my resume. With backing from LesCare, I believe we have a legitimate shot."
Santerre has achieved success, winning, in every series he has ever competed in, including the prestigious NASCAR Busch Series. Santerre directly collates his success with his experience in the Busch North Series.
"I have always bragged on the Busch North Series and its drivers while racing in the south. Though only a handful of drivers have made it to the southern ranks of NASCAR racing, there is a large crop of talent in the northeast." The 33-year old Santerre continues, "I have gained an enormous amount of experience in the past four years running against some of the most recognized drivers in NASCAR. I believe that experience will help me compete against all the talented drivers in the Busch North Series. Be tween the caliber of drivers I've been competing with and LesCare's backing, I feel we can realistically vie for the championship," said Santerre.
Since 1993, Santerre has made his mark in the Busch North Series - in 1993 he earned "Rookie of the Year" honors, in 1994, the "Most Popular Driver" award and in 1996 a runner-up finish and the Bud Pole Award Championship. In 101 starts, Santerre has 10 c areer wins, 14 Bud Pole Awards, 42 top-five and 61 top-10 finishes, making him one of the most decorated veterans on the Busch North Series.
LesCare Kitchens began its motorsports sponsorship in 1994. The company has continually grown its sponsorship with drivers, racecars, and tracks to establish itself as a big supporter of the sport millions of fans love to watch. They have chosen wisely as to the drivers and teams they have affiliated themselves with: exciting, famous, and talented drivers -- Todd Bodine, Casey Atwood, Ted Christopher and Curtis Markham, Reggie Ruggiero, and Kelly Moore and sponsored teams such as Petty Enterprises, Randy La Joie Racing, and Michael Waltrip Racing. Combined, LesCare Kitchens' drivers have been in the winners' circle over a dozen times. And now, Andy Santerre has been added to their prestigious list.
"LesCare Kitchens has invested a great deal of time and money into motorsports for two reasons: many of us at the company genuinely love the sport; and we want to sell cabinetry. In order to get a business return on our investment, we need a outstanding dr iver who will put the car in the lead pack, capitalize on TV coverage when its there, and just as importantly perform off the track as well as he does on the track. I've watched Andy Santerre for many years and his prowess on the track is unquestionable. H e's a good driver, a clean driver, and has proven himself at all the Busch North Series racetracks. I also have high regard for him as to how he conducts himself publicly. He is a gentleman that goes all out for his sponsors; he acknowledges them with the media, attends autograph sessions, does special appearances, appreciates his fans, and goes the extra mile to help the team as a whole. What more could you ask for?" stated James Lestorti, CEO of LesCare Kitchens, Inc.
"I am proud to be associated with LesCare Kitchens," confirmed Santerre, a Cherryfield, Maine native. "They are one of the most recognized sponsors in NASCAR and I am privileged to be their flagship driver for their racing program."
Along with taking on the challenge of competing for the Busch North Series championship, LesCare and Santerre are securing further sponsorship, which will allow them to race in a select number of events in the NASCAR Busch Series as well.
Santerre plans to run the team out of North Carolina, traveling to New England throughout the season.
