James Pritchard Motorsports Signs New Sponsor, Plans Rookie Of The Year Run In Busch North Series
(Wharton, N.J.) - James Pritchard Motorsports, which fields the Mannings USA-sponsored No. 41 NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series for driver Don Wagner, will race with a new associate sponsor as Wagner chases the Sunoco Rookie Of The Year title.
Joining the team is Snacketizers, which is based in Aberdeen, New Jersey. Snacketizers makes premium beef jerky made from 100% top round beef. The premium beef jerky is available in four flavors: hot hickory (Snacketizers' #1 seller), spicy mesquite, teriyaki and barbecue. An assortment of package sizes of Snacketizers premium beef jerky is available online at www.snacketizers.net.
Don Klingenberg, owner of Snacketizers, said, "Snacketizers premium beef jerky is a new company and we're proud to associate ourselves with another potential 'rookie of the year' in the sport we love.
"Jim Pritchard is a stickler for quality and details about everything that goes on his racecar, just as we are with everything that goes into our Snacketizers premium beef jerky," Klingenberg continued. "We thank him for this opportunity to be a proud sponsor of the #41 Mannings USA Chevrolet driven by Don Wagner."
"We're very happy to have both Mannings USA and Snacketizers on the car for 2005," Wagner said. "We met with Mike Mead and Peter Smith from Mannings USA over the winter and they're continuing to back us 100%. And now with Snacketizers on board, we should a very good season."
The team will contest as many Busch North races as possible, starting with the second race of the season at Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway. It has prepared for the new season by outfitting its primary car with a new Billy Hess front clip and sheet metal from Bodies by Bo, covered by paint by Williams Auto Body. Horsepower Engineering will continue to provide the engines.
In addition to Busch North Series competition, Wagner will also see action in his Modified at Mahoning Valley Speedway and other area tracks. James Pritchard Motorsports will also continue to field a Mannings USA-sponsored Factory Stock Chevy Monte Carlo for James Pritchard Jr. at Mahoning Valley.
With Jim Matalenas having to reduce the amount of traveling he can do with the team, former Busch North Rookie of the Year contender Mark Durgin has stepped up to lead the team as crew chief.
"We plan on doing a lot of racing this year, and we have a volunteer crew," Pritchard Sr. said. "The help we're getting is great, and everyone's learning from Mark. He's even helped Don with his Modified, and he and Don have both pitched in to get the Factory Stock car more competitive as well.
"We're working to make sure we aren't overextended and risk showing up to a race with an unprepared car," he continued. "It hurts to have to miss the first Busch North race, but we're making sure we put the car together right and then have an opportunity to test it first, and there's not enough time to get that all done before that first race. But in the long run it'll mean we'll be better prepared and more competitive for when we do get that car on the track."
