Santerre wins wild Nascar Busch North race

NASCAR Busch North Series:

Andy Santerre traded the lead with Eddie MacDonald seven times during the race before getting in front with 14 laps remaining and holding on to win the Forest City Chevrolet 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine.

MacDonald, who went the full distance on one set of Goodyear Eagles, finished second. The victory margin was a scant .617 of a second.

Rookie Ryan Moore finished third, Mike Stefanik was fourth and Bobby Dragon came in fifth.

The winner averaged 51.694 mph in the 150-lap chase around the 1/3-mile oval. Mike Johnson won the Bud Pole Award with an average speed of 76.590 mph.

The series has been hamstrung by weather in recent weeks and has postponed two events. The competitors now face the daunting task of racing 14 times in a 17-week span.
