Hoffman, Whitmoyer, Ulsh to be honored at Big Diamond's November 9th Awards Banquet.
Landingville, PA - The Big Diamond Raceway 2002 track champions Keith Hoffman in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Modifieds, Craig Whitmoyer in the NASCAR ShorTrack Sportsman and Rodney Ulsh in the NASCAR Roadrunners will be honored at the track's Awards Banquet on Saturday, November 9. The annual banquet will be held at the Community Fire Company Social Hall in Landingville, PA. Awards will to the top point finishers and special award winners will be recognized in each of the three NASCAR divisions. Art Bair will distribute his Bair Racing Wheel and Wheel Repair Heat Win Challenge awards. The leading sportsman heat winner was Gary Wagner, Jr. and he will receive a new bead-lock wheel. Doug Hendricks was the leading roadrunner heat winner and he receives a lightweight racing wheel.
But the Modified winner is yet to be determined as Keith Hoffman, Duane Howard and Kyle Weiss tied with the most heat wins. Thus these three drivers, provided they attend the banquet, will have their names placed in a drawing with the driver whose name is selected will receive $250 from Art Bair. The will be another drawing held for all drivers from all three divisions in attendance at the banquet. Lincoln Welders, the Official Welder of NASCAR, will again present a welder to one lucky driver.
Doors for the banquet will open at 6PM for the banquet and dinner is set for 6:30PM. Ticket costs have been reduced this year to $28 per person. The price includes a family style dinner, beer, soda, and dancing as well as the awards presentations.
Big Diamond officials are already attempting to finalize the 2003 racing schedule. Plans are again to feature the modifieds, sportsman and roadrunners.
Sprint cars will make a strong presence in the 2003 schedule. One or two United Racing Club 360 Sprint dates are being sought for 2003. Six or seven KARS Doorways Unlimited 358 Sprint dates are being worked on including a possible fall championship event and possibly a challenge event including 358 divisions from the Carolinas and New York. A 410 Sprint Speedweek is planned. Finally strong consideration is being given to appearances for the big block modifieds as well.
