New Ringgold, PA - October 13 - Art Bair of Bair Wheel Repair will be presenting two more awards to Big Diamond Raceway competitors at this year's Big Diamond Raceway Awards Banquet on November 9. Duane Howard of Oley, PA and John Heckler of Hatfield, PA will become Art Bair's sixth and seventh different Big Diamond award winners of 2001 as the top heat winners in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Modifieds and ShorTrack Sportsman in the Bair Wheel Repair Heat Win Challenge.
Duane Howard, who already received a beadlock wheel from Art Bair as the winner of the Coal Cracker 100, tallied 8 heat wins in modified action at Big Diamond this season to earn $250 from Bair Wheel Repair. John Heckler captured six sportsman heat wins and will be presented with a new beadlock wheel by Art Bair.
Other winners of beadlock wheels at Big Diamond Raceway from Bair Wheel Repair this season were Pit Crew Challenge winners Kyle Weiss and Jeff Haag (1 wheel), Georgie Stevenson Modified 50 winner Craig Von Dohren, Sprint SpeedWeek Sportsman winners Mike Lyons (who was later disqualified for running illegal aluminum wheels) and Joe Biasi (who was actually credited with the win), and Coal Cracker Sportsman winner Jeff Ebersole. Bair Wheel Repair has been in business for fifteen (15) years and is located at 1129 Pine Creek Road in New Ringgold, PA. Art Bair repairs any type of steel wheels from racing wheels to dune buggy wheels. Types of repair range from widening, narrowing and changing offsets to repairing damaged wheels to new condition. Next day service is available in some cases and deliveries and pick-up are made from Big Diamond Raceway and Grandview Speedway every race week.
The 2001 Big Diamond Raceway Awards Banquet will be held a bit earlier than usual this year, on Friday night, November 9, at the St. Nicholas Hall in Primrose, PA just outside of Minersville. Leading the lost of honorees will be 2001 Big Diamond track champions Keith Hoffman in the Modifieds, Dave Dissinger in the Sportsman and John Ulsh in the roadrunners.
Doors will open for the banquet at 7 PM with dinner following at 7:30PM. The cost of tickets is $33 per person. Dinner, all drinks (including sodas, beer, high balls and fuzzy navels), the awards ceremonies, music and dancing are included. Music will be provided by Harry C Productions. In addition to hardware for the top 20 modified drivers, 15 sportsman drivers and 10 roadrunners, the top five car owners will also be honored. Finally special awards including the NASCAR Craftsman Mechanic of the Year, Bair Racing Wheel Heat Challenge Winners, Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Drivers and other awards will be distributed.
