Arlene Pittman wraps up the Goody's Dash Season in her own back yard.

HAMPTON, GA (October 25, 2002) Arlene Pittman is hoping to put on quite a show for the hometown crowd at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on October 25th during the final race of the 2002 Goody's Dash Series NASCAR Touring season.

At practice on October 5th at the speedway, Pittman was pulling double duty hopping from one ride to another to ready car owner, Gary Moore's, fleet of Dash Cars for the last event of the season. "I had one that was tight and one that was loose, but the red #7 Speedway Children's Charity Pontiac felt great," said Pittman who will be riding in red for this race after competing during the season in the #7 Pink Fire Pontiac. "Pink Fire needs a break so I am going to take this red one out to see what it can do," said Pittman.

Pittman recorded some of her fastest times during the practice and was hanging with the leaders after a few adjustments.

Arlene Pittman is currently 15th in a field of 68 drivers with the series. She is the 4th ranked rookie this year.

Pittman who has driven the track in a Legend Car will tackle the ¼ mile oval with 24 other Dash Cars in what will be a shoot out to the finish. "It should be an interesting race, a crowd pleaser for the fans. We will be lined up nose to tail on this short track," she said.

One of the highlights for Pittman is connecting with her fans and spending time with children. The Savannah Suites in Jonesboro, GA will be hosting a driver appearance at 7:00 p.m. on October 23, where Arlene Pittman will be signing autographs and talking racing. Her car will also be on display. The hotel is located at 8240 Tara Blvd. The public is invited to attend.
