Rain Washes Out Racing For NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown Friday; All three races to be run Saturday

IRWINDALE, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2009) -- Persistent rain in the Los Angeles area has caused schedule changes for the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown weekend which will see all three races run on an action-packed Saturday of short-track racing.

Rain caused a near washout of Friday's track schedule, which was to include practice, qualifying, a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Super Late Model race and a NASCAR Camping World Series qualifying race.

Efforts are still being made this evening to get some action in at the track, and a revised schedule for Saturday's activities will be released as soon as it becomes available. Saturday's schedule will included the 150-lap Super Late Model, 75-Lap Late Model and the both the NASCAR Camping World Series qualifying and main races.

Already determined, the garage will open for race teams from all three divisions at 7 a.m.

Gates will open for spectators at 2 p.m.

SPEED will commence with it's live coverage of the NSACAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at the regularly-schedule time Saturday at 7 p.m.
