17-year-old driver to carry 'Get to Know Newton' on K&N car

Jesse Little, a third-generation driver and recently named member of the 2014-15 NASCAR Next program, will help race fans "Get to Know Newton" as the 17-year old has signed an agreement to carry the city's promotional logo on his Chevrolet for this weekend's NASCAR K&N Pro Series event at Iowa Speedway.

In addition to having Newton's support for the weekend's race, Little will also have them onboard his No. 97 when the series returns in August for their second Iowa stop of the season.

"This is a great opportunity for our race team to be able to showcase Newton (Iowa) and what it has to offer to the race fans that will be here this weekend and again this summer when we return," Little said. "Iowa Speedway is a great facility and the people of the area are some of the most hospitable in the country. We love coming to Newton, recognize the importance of their support of TLR this season and can't wait to get on the track and show what we're capable of doing to promote this area."

The city's promotional endeavors are a big part of this weekend's NASCAR racing at Iowa Speedway. Teaming with the country's top motorsport is a win for the community and race fans, according to City of Newton Development Specialist and former Iowa Speedway administrator, Craig Armstrong.

"We are very proud to partner with NASCAR Next star Jesse Little, and to showcase our city branding campaign on his Team Little Racing Chevrolet during the 'Casey's General Stores 150' NASCAR K&N Pro Series race this Saturday," Armstrong explained.

"Coupled with our title sponsorship of Sunday's NASCAR Nationwide Series race, thousands of race fans will have the opportunity to 'Get to Know Newton' at Iowa Speedway."

Little plans to highlight Newton include posting a strong run in the 150-lap K&N Pro Series race, he noted.

"Our team has always been strong at tracks like Iowa. We ran well at Richmond in our last race (posting a top-10 finish) and Iowa is a very similar layout. The momentum we've put together of late has us sitting within the top-5 in the championship standings and we're looking to maintain or improve on that this weekend."

Like Richmond the key to success at Iowa's 7/8 mile track is having a car that carries speed through the corners, Little added.

"When the car gets through the corner and more importantly is able to exit strong and carry speed down the straightaways you always have a shot to win. We had that for the most part in Richmond and expect to be up front at Iowa this weekend."
