Bob Patison, Sr. Vice-President & General Counsel of Lucas Oil Products, Inc. has announced plans to sponsor Steven Christian in two NASCAR Busch Grand National races this season. Christian currently drives the Lucas Oil Products, Inc./Irmo Grading #16 entry in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series.

Christian will test the #94 Dodge Grand National car at Peach State Speedway on Monday, July 23 and at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on Wednesday, July 25. The initial outing of the Jim Edwards Performance Dodge will most likely occur within the next 60-90 days, with details to be announced.

"We are tremendously excited to be a part of this effort", said Patison. "This will be a first...a Dodge in the Busch Grand National Series. Steven Christian has done an excellent job for us, and we have no doubt that he will continue to represent Lucas Oil Products well in the Busch series."

Christian is currently running third in overall points in the 2001 USAR Hooters ProCup Series and recently registered his second USAR career victory at Montgomery Motor Speedway on July 7. Christian has set the pole twice and has eight Top Five and ten Top Ten finishes in the twelve USAR races completed this season.
