Logano to Defend Win at Kentucky
Leffler Likes Season So Far
NEWS, NOTES &; NUMBERS: Toyota Camry drivers have recorded five wins (Busch -- California, Texas, Richmond and Nashville-2; Logano -- Nashville-1), 20 top-fives and 45 top-10 finishes through 13 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) races in 2009 ... Busch leads the NNS series point standings, holding a 65-point advantage over second-place Carl Edwards ... Camry driver Logano earned his first career NNS win at Kentucky Speedway one year ago in only his third start... This weekend, two Camry drivers will commute between the NSCS race in Michigan and the NNS race in Kentucky -- Busch and Logano.
JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
What did last year's win at Kentucky mean to you? "That win at Kentucky was the biggest thing that's happened in my career to keep it going. That's kind of what got me into the Cup ride that I'm in now. It was our third race in a Nationwide car with GameStop on the hood so that was pretty cool that everyone was there. My whole family was there, so that was neat. It's a great place to win at. That was one of the race tracks that we were able to test at when we were able to with the Cup car so I had a lot of laps around there. That played into my favor. I think it's a great place to get your first win and hopefully get back there and get another one."
KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
What is your outlook for competing across all three NASCAR series this month? "We tried to just sort of start fresh, start over. We knew it was going to be a hectic month-and-a-half, going back and forth between some of the races so we knew we wanted to come out and enjoy it and make the most of the effort and have fun while doing it."
BURNEY LAMAR, No. 32 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
What do you think about racing at Kentucky Speedway? "Kentucky is a really cool track to race on. It's wide and fast and you can run wherever you need to for your car. The track surface is getting rougher each year and my crew chief, Trent Owens, has great experience with shock packages. So I know our Camry will be well-prepared for the weekend. We're bringing the car we ran last weekend at Nashville. It's nice to get a second week in a row in the same car. It allows some consistency and we can pick right up in practice where we left off, which is always helpful."
JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
How's your season going so far? "I'm very excited about the way our team has performed this year. The addition of Scott Zipadelli as crew chief has taken this team to a whole new level and it shows on the race track. We started strong out of the box and seem to improve each and every week. The most you can ask for is to be up front every week, mixing it up in the top-five and having a legitimate shot at the win. We have been able to do that consistently this year and we know that a win is just around the corner. Hopefully, we can get it done this weekend at Kentucky."
