Starting Position: 1st
Are you excited to be on the pole for Saturday's race? "It's pretty exciting to be on the pole here. I think 2004 was the last time I was on to the pole here in a Nationwide Series event. We looked forward today to the qualifying. When the winds died down there earlier in the day we were really struggling. I was, anyway, with the way the wind was blowing us around. I was almost scared to drive the thing. We weren't very fast in the first one, but got going better in the second practice a little bit and made the car a little bit better here and there, and made some adjustments to it that we felt like would really help us for Saturday. Hopefully, we're correct in those, and our assessment of practice today, we did pretty well. We're looking forward to starting on Saturday from the pole."
JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 10th
How was your qualifying lap? "It was decent. It wasn't where we wanted it. I think we were just a little bit too loose to lay down the lap we needed. I felt like we got down to the center carrying too much speed and I kind of lost it. A couple-tenths off, but we know where it's at."
How do you think the weather will affect Saturday's race? "That's the guessing game that everyone is going through right now. Nobody knows what the track is going to do. Will it get loose, but will the rubber tighten it up? Nobody knows for sure. The wind is also playing a big factor. Between all that, I don't think anyone has the answer, but we'll all make an educated guess and see where we end up."
JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
Starting Position: 12th
How was your qualifying lap? "It was all right. We were a little tight, but it's good. We were pretty good throughout practice. You just need to have a car that stays underneath throughout the race, and keep up with the changes in weather and changes on the track."
MICHAEL MCDOWELL, No. 47 Tom's Snacks Toyota Camry, JTG-Daugherty Racing
Starting Position: 15th
How was your qualifying lap? "The lap was good. We only made one mock run in practice and I just didn't get all of it. When you do that, you usually leave a little too much out there in qualifying as well. I just dragged the brake a little bit and probably knocked off a little bit of speed. All in all, it was a pretty good run for the JTG-Daugherty/Tom's Snacks Camry. It's nice to finish a qualifying run at Texas. I didn't hit the fence, so that's good."
SCOTT LAGASSE JR., No. 11 America's Incredible Pizza Company Toyota Camry, CJM Racing
Starting Position: 17th
MICHAEL WALTRIP, No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 19th
What things did you work on in practice for Saturday's race? "There's a pretty good bump in one and two where the tunnel is and I just can't get over it. I don't know what's going on. We have a really good car in three in four -- I can run wide open right through there like a go-kart. It felt perfect. But when I got down to one and two, it just hits the bump and wants to go up the track. If I turn it harder, then the back end gets loose. It's just really difficult to get it over that bump. We improved our car from practice to qualifying. I was happy the attitude and the feel, but I just had to let off the gas when I hit the bump and it moved over."
