CARL EDWARDS -- No. 60 Save-a-Lot Ford Fusion -- (finished 2nd, qualified 1st)

TALK ABOUT THOSE LAST COUPLE OF LAPS.

"Yeah, we got four tires and that gave us a chance against the 18. Those guys were really fast all day. My crew chief Drew Blickensderfer did a really great job. He made really, really good calls. Our car was great. We needed about two more laps with the way everything was working out and I think we would have been really close to catching Kyle, but definitely they did a great job today. Their car was spectacular."

DID YOU THINK YOU HAD A BETTER CAR THAN CLINT ALL DAY?

"I felt like Clint and I had very equal cars. I felt like we were about the same speed. When I was in front of him I could stay that way and when he was in front of me, vice versa. It's wild that we picked up so many points on him. I thought that we were going to run right there together and at the end I actually thought that he was going to finish in front of us. But the way traffic worked out and everything got mixed up, we got around him and my car was really fast. That's good. I think we've got 91 points to make up in two races, which is completely reasonable. So, I'm very excited about that."

YOU'RE INVOLVED IN TWO PRETTY HEATED POINTS CHASES RIGHT NOW IN CUP AND NATIONWIDE. WHAT KIND OF COMPARISONS AND CONTRASTS CAN YOU DRAW BETWEEN THESE TWO RUNS FOR YOU?

"It's the same points structure in both series, so there's the opportunity in either of them over the next one or two races to gain up to, I believe it's 162 points in one race, you can possibly gain. I know that that's the possible gain we can have. What we have to do and what I have to do is just do the best we can, hope for something to happen in both series. Obviously, we have to hope for more to happen in the Cup series, just because the points they are about double there. That's it. It is fun, in a way it makes for a little more excitement during the day. With things moving around, you see things go on and in a way you feel like you pay attention. I pay attention to Jimmie and I pay attention to Clint and I really learn about how their days go and how they do things, their strategies by having these points battles."

ARE YOU STARTING TO FEEL THIS THING IS GOING TO BE YOURS? WHAT IS YOUR GUT TELLING YOU?

"That we're gonna win both of them, that's my gut. But I think that's what you have to believe, you know? So much can happen. So many things that I've seen just in my short time racing in these series, I've seen some things that are not normal, total luck chance things. I know that we all have the same chances of those things happening to one another, I just feel like we've got a shot at both these titles. It's pretty exciting for me. It's fun, in a way, there's less pressure for me because we're coming from behind and it's a little easier to just go for it and see what happens."

DO YOU FEEL THAT IN PHOENIX AND HOMESTEAD IN THE NATIONWIDE CAR ARE GOOD TRACKS FOR YOU? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU NEED TO DO IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS?

"I feel like Phoenix and Homestead both are really good tracks. The thing about Homestead is that these mile-and-a-halves with these cars with the tapered spacer, it's really hard to get out and separate yourself from someone and make something happen. The one I'm most excited about is Phoenix. I feel like our flat track, short track stuff has been really good. Milwaukee was great, Richmond, Gateway, I don't know where else we ran. Every time it seems like we go to a shorter race track it's good. Phoenix is the one I'm looking forward to the most in the Nationwide Series."
