BCR AND AUTISM SOCIETY TEAM UP TO PROMOTE AUTISM AWARENESS
Once again this week, The Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon adorns the hood of Scott Lagasse Jr.'s No. 43 Ford Fusion. Also on the hood this week are the names of Peyton Mattingly and Lee Badesch who are both on the autism spectrum. Mattingly is a close friend to Baker Curb Racing and Badesch, representing the Autism Society, will serve as the honorary crew chief for Saturday's race and sit atop the No. 43 pit box.
SCOTT LAGASSE JR. ON PLATE RACING
"Plate racing is basically a 200 MPH chess match. You are in a group of cars and you have to not only know what your car is doing, but what it can do to the other cars. I really wasn't a fan of plate racing until after practice in Talladega last year. I had given Dale Jr. a pretty good bump and wanted to talk to him and make sure that I wasn't being too aggressive. He ended up talking to me for about an hour and gave me a lot of pointers about how to plate race. Before that, I thought he just ran up front because he had good cars. There is a reason that he runs up front in plate races, and it's because he knows what he is doing."
SCOTT LAGASSE JR. ON TALLADEGA
"I ran real well at Talladega last year and I'm excited to be going back. We're taking the same car that we ran at Daytona in February and it was a very fast car. Jason Keller ran the same car at Talladega last year and finished 7th. Roush Yates has been supplying some good motors, so I think it will be an exciting weekend!"
