JGR XFINITY Series rookie is feeling better after trip to infield care center
LAS VEGAS – Daniel Suarez skipped the first XFINITY Series practice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday.
The 23-year-old Monterrey, Mexico native “woke up this morning feeling under the weather” according to a Joe Gibbs Racing representative. Suarez was seen at the infield care center, “came out feeling better” and is expected to participate in Happy Hour.
Veteran Matt Kenseth shook down the No. 18 ARRIS Toyota for Suarez in first practice and posted the ninth fastest lap (177.363 mph) on the speed chart.
Austin Dillon led the first NXS session with a lap of 180.977 mph, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Regan Smith, Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin.
Suarez is currently 20th in the NXS point standings after two races.
