Steve Wallace and Brendan Gaughan Among Top-Ten in Final Richmond Practice; No. 66 Wheelman Among Three Fastest Nationwide Series Drivers

RICHMOND, VA (May 1, 2009)--Rusty Wallace Racing's Steve Wallace (No. 66 USfidelis Chevrolet Impala SS) was among the top-ten fastest in this morning's final practice session for tonight's Lipton Tea 250 at Richmond International Raceway. His eighth-place effort was the third-best of all Nationwide Series drivers in the field.

Wallace's best lap of 21.806 seconds (123.819 MPH) came on the 4th of his 68 laps in the session. Wallace, a top-five finisher in last year's running of this event, noted, "Everyone seemed to really fight the racetrack and the tires this morning. I wasn't happy with our No. 66 car for some of the practice, but by the time it was over, I think we managed to get it balanced pretty well. I can't wait to get going tonight."

Meanwhile, Wallace's RWR teammate, Brendan Gaughan (No. 62 Loanmax Title Loans Chevrolet Impala SS), was also among the top-ten in final practice, posting the 10th-fastest effort overall.

Gaughan's best lap of 21.813 seconds (123.779 MPH) occurred on the 6th of his 89 laps in the session. Said Gaughan, "We fought a tight condition for a lot of the practice, but we really gained on it as the morning went on. I know that Bryan Berry (crew chief) and the guys have a few more adjustments up their sleeves for the race and I'm looking forward to having a solid run here tonight."
