CORNELIUS, N.C. -- Gary and Blake Bechtel along with Michael Waltrip Racing announced the formation of Diamond-Waltrip Racing last year at Phoenix International Raceway. The newly-formed Nationwide Series partnership enjoyed great success in 2010 with the No. 99 and No. 00 posting three poles and eight top-five finishes with drivers Trevor Bayne, Martin Truex Jr. and Ryan Truex. The team will announce its 2011 Nationwide plans on Thursday and Martin Truex Jr. will drive a special paint scheme this weekend at PIR promoting those plans.
MARTIN TRUEX JR. ON RACING AT PHOENIX: "This is going to be an exciting weekend at Phoenix for Diamond-Waltrip Racing. They have some really big plans for 2011. Phoenix is also a really good track for me and I know my Nationwide guys are going to have a really fast car for me this weekend. We just need to figure out how to turn all these top fives into wins. We have been so close but we just can't seem to get over the hump. It would be cool to bring the No. 00 Toyota to victory lane this weekend."
MARTIN TRUEX ON RYAN TRUEX: "I am really proud of Ryan. He has done some good things this season and I think he has impressed some people. He still has a lot to learn but he has come a long way since his first Nationwide start at Gateway. He just needs to stop being so tough on himself. I think Ryan has a lot of talent and I really think he could compete for wins next year."
RYAN TRUEX ON FINAL RACE OF THE SEASON: "I am excited about running Phoenix this weekend which will be my final race of 2010. We decided to put Martin in the car at Homestead so I could compete for Rookie of the Year next year. I didn't get the finishes that I wanted in the Nationwide races this year, however; I really learned a lot. I was able to run up front and race with some of the veterans. I am excited about running the new Nationwide car next year and hopefully competing for wins in 2011."
