Truex is riding a wave of momentum in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with Joe Gibbs Racing; his top-10 at Dover, combined with a top-5 at Richmond and strong showings at Chicago and Atlanta make four consecutive top-15 finishes in just as many starts for JGR. He’s also received the Sunoco Rookie of the Race Award for all four races.

Saturday marks Truex’s 2nd start at Kansas Speedway in a NASCAR Nationwide Series car, and his 15th start in the Nationwide Series in 2011. He finished in the top-15 at his only other start at Kansas last year in a Toyota Camry for Pastrana-Waltrip Racing.

He is teamed up with veteran crew chief Adam Stevens this weekend; with whom he’s posted a 4th and an 11th place finish in their two other starts together at Atlanta and Richmond, respectively.

Ryan Truex on the Momentum of Strong Finishes

I’m going in with the same mindset as the past four races. Hopefully we’ve gotten all the bad luck out of the way. We have been very fast off the truck every weekend and I’m sure this will be no different.”

Truex on Returning to Kansas Speedway

“I’ve been there in the old car last year so it won’t be my first time there. From what I can remember, it is a bumpy track so we will need to make sure our car handle the bumps well in order to be fast.

Crew Chief Adam Stevens on Truex’s Performance

“Ryan has done a great job in his four races so far at JGR. I have been really impressed with his ability to finish strong and bring the car back in one piece. We had a great time working with him at Atlanta and Richmond. Kansas will be a slightly different challenge; it will be more similar to Chicago. Ryan had a decent run there. We plan on using some if the No. 11 team's Chicago notes and going from there. We are on a different left side tire than the (Sprint) Cup cars this weekend so that will be interesting.”
