RETURNING "HOME" - Jeff Green returns to Nashville, Tennessee, the area that jump started his NASCAR career in the early 1990's, to pilot the #40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet in Saturday's Federated Auto Parts 300 at the Nashville Superspeedway. The Key Motorsports team looks to better their April performance at the high-banked oval, when their efforts produced a 27th place finish after starting 42nd.
SECOND START - Jeff Green will drive the #40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet for the second time this season after running the Aaron's 312 at Talladega on April 24, 2010 for car owner Curtis Key. Green started from the 42nd position and moved through the field to run with the leaders for much of the Talladega event, finishing a respectable 16th. "I'm looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the #40 at Nashville. Curtis and the Key Motorsports team prepare a competitive car week in and week out and we are looking for a good day at Nashville on Saturday," Green said earlier this week.
Key Motorsports crew chief Gary Showalter and the Key Motorsports crew have a great working relationship with Green, the 2000 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion. "I am excited to be working with Jeff this week at Nashville, Jeff is excited and the guys on the team are as well," said Showalter. "He was on the pit box with us at Charlotte last week, we all learned a lot and have incorporated everything we picked up into this Nashville car. We have really worked over the #40 this week and are ready for Nashville."
GREEN MEETING WITH LOCAL FANS - Jeff Green, who got his start on the Nashville area short tracks, will meet fans for photos and autographs at an autograph party hosted by the Scoreboard Bar & Grill Saturday, June 5, 2010 beginning at 11 am. The Scoreboard Bar & Grill is located at 2408 Music Valley Drive in Nashville, directly behind The Fiddler's Inn. "The fans in Nashville have supported us for years and it will be great to get together with them again on Saturday morning," said Green. Race fans looking to have a great time prior to the race are encouraged to attend.
POINTS UPDATE - The Key Motorsports team currently occupies the 23rd spot in the NASCAR Nationwide Series owner point standings with 12 of the 35 races completed. Jeff Green and the Key Motorsports organization are looking to improve their points position at Nashville this weekend.
